Medical Marijuana Vs. CBD Flower

A quick comparison between Medical Marijuana and CBD Flower.

The legalization of Marijuana began in 1996 at the State level in the State of California.  Since then, an additional 33 states have followed suit. There is a growing awareness of the medical benefits of Medical Marijuana. But despite an overwhelming majority of the population in favor of the legalization of Medical Marijuana, the Federal Government still classifies it as a Schedule 1 substance, with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.

What is Marijuana?

Marijuana is plant that contains over 100 different chemicals called cannabinoids, with each one having their own unique effect on the body. Much of the effects of these cannabinoids are still not known due to lack of research and lack of government support. Research has shown that these cannabinoids interact with the Endocannabinoid system providing relief to medical conditions from anxiety and depression, all the way to treating fibromyalgia and cancer. Tetrahydrocannabinol, or simply THC, is widely known to be responsible for high associated with smoking marijuana. High doses of THC have been shown to induce psychotic episodes and paranoia.

What is CBD Flower?

CBD Flower, or more commonly know as Hemp, also belongs to the family, Cannabis L. Sativa. The main difference lies in the Federal Government’s definition of Industrialized Hemp outlined in the 2018 US Farm Bill. This legislation defines hemp as containing less than 0.3% THC. Outside of this one difference, there isn’t much of a difference a between Marijuana and CBD Flowers.

So What Does This Mean?

This means that if you are looking for all of the potential benefits of medical marijuana, without the high, psychoactive affects, or impairment, then CBD Flower might just be what you have been searching for.

Best of all… its legal! Stay Medicated!
